This course will provide learners with knowledge and experience integrating concepts of biomaterials, pharmacology, and nutrition related to oral and general health for the provision of dental hygiene services.
This course is part of the full time Dental Hygiene Diploma program.
Preventive, therapeutic, and restorative biomaterials
Administration of local anesthesia
Pharmacology
Nutrition
Integration of evidence-based research, informed decision making and collaboration into practice
Prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR)
PLAR is granted for competence with the placement of sealants and sports mouthguards. Students must provide supplied documentation of prior learning to validate clinical experience.
