As in Year 1 Jazz students explore the principles of Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet and Modern Jazz with an emphasis on coordination, isolations, strength, physical virtuosity and anatomical efficiency. The history of Jazz dance and contemporary dance fusion within the genre is further discussed. More technically challenging vocabulary is covered with emphasis on extensive phrases and combinations designed to increase stamina and endurance. The choreography and musicality also becomes more sophisticated, demanding greater proficiency and versatility of the dancer. Prerequisite: Jazz Technique 3
