This course will address the basic principles of drafting especially as it applies to the field of Interior Design. Students will learn the correct use the drafting instruments, conventions, scales and lettering. Through careful observation and weekly assignments students will learn to read and draw drafted floor plans, sections and elevations. Architectural lettering styles, materials, millwork, 3D drawing (obliques), and reflected ceiling plans will be demonstrated and practiced. The importance of exacting line weights and architectural symbols will be emphasized.
