Giving to Families

Life is not always easy.  Families find themselves struggling for many unexpected reasons:  a sick child, loss of a job, a life changing health diagnosis, etc.

  • Music brings joy into families and reduces stress!
  • Music is the number one regulator of mood!
  • Music is bonding, soothing and healing!

At Exeter Family Music Center  we support  a policy that if a family would like to continue but our programs are "cost-prohibitive" then we work with them at their level.  If you would like to donate to support our policy of helping families please do!  Any donation amount, time or support is appreciated!

The inspiration for the series has come from sharing early childhood music with families and my own children for over ten years. Almost all of you READ to your child(ren) everyday and understand well the importance of sharing books with your child, and most of you SING to your child(ren) and have participated in Early Childhood Music Classes sharing the beauty and magic of making Music Together®.   The books will share traditional and original songs, be adapted and simplified for young children. Randy will be creating beautiful illustrations in an artistic style, pleasing to the adult reader and each book will include a downloadable song to share with your child!

Over the years I’ve always had held the philosophy that “if you can do, do, if you can’t, then do when you can..…”

It’s been a really difficult year for lots of people in our communities and I’ve personally not been exempt from major challenges.  CREATING together and HELPING each other is something that enriches us all!

We sincerely appreciate your consideration and am sending peace and love, in song to you and your family today and always.

One Mother Shares:

I began attending Music Together about a year and a half ago. When we started, my daughter was in the process of receiving her autism diagnosis. I was stressed out, desperately worried and in need of some magic. Terry Taylor delivered that magic to us.  From the beginning, Terry encouraged relaxing and having fun with music. There is never any pressure on the children to participate. Terry encourages the adults to participate and model for children and within moments the whole room is singing and dancing together. Terry is keenly aware of the different learning styles (visual, auditory and kinesthetic) and incorporates all of them into each class. The whole experience has been nothing short of phenomenal. My daughter and I look forward to that class each week. We have so much fun! My daughter has progressed remarkably because of music with Terry . When we first started, my daughter was completely nonverbal and would circle the room, or run around a little aimlessly. Today she not only participates appropriately, but she will also take little leadership roles from time to time. The tonal patterns and vocal play have helped my daughter begin to talk and sing. There is nothing sweeter than the sound of her voice singing!! (Particularly since we were not sure we would ever hear it, given that a number of children on the spectrum remain nonverbal). Many of the other mothers have been surprised to learn of my daughter’s diagnosis, because in Terry’s class she looks like any other typical child.  It’s phenomenal to see how far my daughter has come because of Terry and Music Together. I’ve actually made it a point to schedule her therapies around music with Terry because it reaps more results than speech, OT and all other therapies combine

The atmosphere is beautiful: happy children singing, dancing and playing together, and happy parents singing, dancing and playing together…all choreographed by a very talented artist named Terry Taylor.
